Et liv under solens lys er en kollektivroman, hvor alle historier foregår i samme dystopiske fremtid. Den skildrer et fremtidens Danmark med en korrumperet velfærdsstat styret af en kunstig intelligens kaldet Administrationen.

Anders har været alene så længe, at Administrationen beslutter at tvinge ham på en date. Liva bliver efter gymnasiet Fremtidsbestemt til at dedikere sit liv til ’samfundets bedste’. Maxine vil hævne sig på Administrationen, mens Friedrich
 er en nostalgisk ordenshåndhæver. Fantine er et af de få privilegerede mennesker, hvis job det er at gøre Mars klar til beboelse, men hun må ofre mere, end hun nogensinde kunne forestille sig i jagten på et nyt hjem til menneskeheden.

Nicolai Just er cand.mag. i nordisk sprog og litteratur med engelsk som tilvalg. Et liv under solens lys er hans debutroman.
